NAS set to inaugurate NAS Salvation Council and swear-in members this weekend

The National Salvation Front (NAS) is set to inaugurate its Political Council (aka the Salvation Council) and swear-in sts members who were appointed earlier this year.

The inaugural session and swearing-in ceremony of the Salvation Council is scheduled to take place this weekend and shall be addressed by the Chairman and Commander-in-Chief General Thomas Cirillo Swaka.

Earlier this year, a 61-strong political council preferably known as the Salvation Council from all across South Sudan were appointed pursuant to the April 2017 resolutions of the NAS Leadership together with the February 2020 resolutions of the NAS interim Political Committee on the establishment of NAS political structures.

Chief Justice Kukur Lopita will preside over the swearing-in ceremony after which the Chairman and C-in-C is expected to address the newly sworn-in members of the Salvation Council.
