The verdict is out… JCE remains guilty on all courts
Shortly after the publication their letter entitled ‘Breaking the Silence’, the Jieng Council of Elders (JCE) do not appear to have convinced many as South Sudanese and international observers alike overwhelmingly responded with evidence suggesting the JCE is as guilty as the current regime in the detrimental decisions that have pushed the country to the brink of collapse.

In an attempt to clear its name and refute allegations of its role in the tribal and detrimental decisions that have ruined the country, the Jieng Council of Elders (JCE) has publicly come out to shift the responsibility and place it squarely on Kiir and his failed administration.Β
