Congolese authorities have arrested four SPLM-IO soldiers 3 kilometers deep inside Congo who were part of a joint Kiir's SSPDF and Machar's SPLM-IO offensive that plundered villages, torched huts, looted animals, food, and household property belonging to Congolese citizens and South Sudanese refugees.

Also on 9th September 2020, the SSPDF and SPLA-IO carried out joint military attacks on NAS positions at Laiza and Agabe, Morobo County, Central Equatoria State.

20200824 NAS Latest Press Release NAS Units on maximum readiness

The leadership of the National Salvation Front (NAS) has directed all its units to immediately observe a state of maximum readiness to defend themselves and civilians after Salva Kiir's SSPDF General Headquarters (GHQs) in Juba ordered all military divisions in the country to contribute troops for what is believed to be imminent aggression on NAS defensive positions.

20200820 NAS Latest Press Release NAS ambushed a reconnaissance land cruiser

Wednesday 19th August 2020, at Kuse Pager, Luwala Boma, Lo’bonok County, a few kilometers south of Juba, a small mobile force of NAS ambushed a reconnaissance Toyota Land Cruiser Pick-up belonging to the bodyguards of the Vice President James Wani Igga. Six (6) bodyguards of VP were killed in action and several others wounded; five (5) AK47 rifles and different quantities of ammunition captured in good condition; including the Pick-up vehicle which was later burnt down. The gallant NAS surgical force withdrew successfully to its base.
