A hero has fallen – Peter Cirillo

Retired Gen. Peter Cirillo, who has been unwell for a while, has died in Nairobi – Kenya, his family has announced.

The late, who is an elder brother to General Thomas Cirillo (the Chairman of the National Salvation Front – NAS) is considered by many as an iconic leader, a veteran freedom fighter, exemplary elder and political giant – one of the best to ever come out of South Sudan.

South Sudanese took to the socials to pay tribute to the iconic leader.

“..During his life time General Peter always endeavored to stand with the people, even during difficult and dangerous times. He was highly respected by his peers, colleagues and the general public because of his great deeds. His memory, for everything that he has done to our people and country, will forever be our hearts,” S Alley

Many recalled his life-time service in the struggles against Arab oppression
