Gen Thomas Cirillo inspires hope and calls for unity in New Year’s address

Chairman of NAS Emphasizes the End of Kiir’s Reign and Urges Unification for a Brighter Future

In a poignant New Year’s speech, General Thomas Cirillo, Chairman of the National Salvation Front (NAS), delivered a message of hope and resilience to the people of South Sudan. Despite acknowledging the challenges faced in 2023, General Cirillo offered optimism, asserting that no circumstance is permanent and instilling hope for the end of President Salva Kiir’s reign of hardship and suffering.

“2023 has been a challenging year, but in these tough times, we must remember that no condition is permanent,” stated General Cirillo. “Salva Kiir’s era of terror and misery will come to an end.”

Addressing a gathered audience, General Cirillo called for unity among the people and communities of South Sudan to overthrow President Kiir’s regime. He highlighted the government’s involvement in tribal conflicts, attributing the cycle of suffering and decay to the regime’s actions.

General Cirillo reaffirmed NAS’s unwavering commitment to the cause of justice, emphasizing that NAS and other resistance groups refuse to compromise the people’s interests for political gains in Juba. “We will continue to resist the government’s oppressive regime until the very end,” he declared.

In a resounding call for dignity and unity, General Cirillo reminded the audience that no people in history have allowed themselves to be enslaved indefinitely. “The dawn of justice is imminent,” he declared, expressing confidence in the restoration of the people’s dignity and unity.
