Another unprovoked attack by the joint forces of Kiir’s SSPDF and Machar’s SPLM-IO has been defeated in Kajo-Keji county, a day after Juba sent reinforcements to several fronts in preparation for more aggression on NAS forces.

According to a press statement by Suba Samuel, NAS Spokesperson, the victory over the aggressors took place on August 13, 2020, at a place called Kig’wo some twenty (20) kilometers from Kajo-Keji town.

“NAS gallant forces fought back in self-defense and defeated the attackers forcing them to retreat in disarray. In this operation three (3) enemy soldiers were killed in action and several others wounded; meanwhile, one (1) NAS combatant killed in action,” read the press release in part.

Suba Samuel also revealed that enemy troops are being reinforced across several fronts in preparation for new attacks against NAS bases and surrounding civilian population around those areas.

“…on 12th August 2020 the SSPDF convoy of ten (10) vehicles from Artillery Unit was dispatched to Pagari and Lobonok respectively, this build-up is to reinforce the enemy in these locations in preparation for the planned offensive against NAS bases,” he stated.

He assured members and supporters of the National Salvation Front (NAS) that “the NAS gallant revolutionary combatants are ready to fight back any aggression against its positions,” and is confident that the enemy will not succeed in its futile attempt.

NAS reiterates its commitment to the Cession of Hostilities Agreement (CoHA) signed on 21st December 2017 in Addis Ababa Ethiopia, and to the Rome Declaration signed on 20th January 2020 signed in Rome, Italy. NAS, however, reserves the right to self-defense.
