Once Again Riek to Juba!!
In a recent letter addressed to the SPLM-IO members, which was facing great cleavages these days among its members, Dr. Riek Machar said in an attempt to calm the storms that still strikes his organization from all directions, that he will be going to Juba immediately after his meeting with members of the Security Council in Addis Ababa in the middle of this month under the supervision of the United Nations.

The news that brought calm and peace in the hearts of the SPLM-IO supporters who are thirsty for power especially after the recent statements of (Salva Kiir) the president of South Sudan.

Politically, the statement of Dr. Riek Machar’s connotations is crystal clear in an attempt to reassure the members of SPLM-IO especially after Kiir’s recent statement that he would go ahead with the formation of the National Unity Government on time even with or without Dr. Riek Machar. This is a clear indication without a doubt that the last visit of Dr. Riek Machar to Juba was actually unsuccessful.

Tactically, it is true that the regime has succeeded in its recent statements attributed to Kiir in pulling the parties of SPLM-IO which have fallen in strategic and tactical mistakes that the regime has continuously exploited to preserve its status quo. The fact that all the options of the SPLM – IO are shrinking, especially after signing the surrender agreement to satisfy aspirations of their leaders in power far away from addressingย  the fundamental issues of the people of South Sudan.

Therefore, it is a deceiving for those who might think that the SPLM-IO in opposition will not continue to bow to the regime so long as it was tied down with the aspirations of its leaders in power.

Now, look how the recent remarks of Kiir, ย has shaken up the SPLM-IO to the extent that it increases madness of those who are eager to get their share of the cake (power-sharing) since Kiir threw his stone in their stagnant water towards the palace (of J1) that led them ย sometimes to issue ย contradictory statements here and there, and on other times shameful courtship press release, and valueless articles since the SPLM-IO had betrayed the people of South Sudan in its conflict with regime for power that gave calm in the hearts of regime political hawks and hypocritical generals of opinion makers.

In my view, in the context of the renewed conflict between the two sides over power, it has become very clear that in the midst of the weakness of the SPLM-IO and lack of political will from the government side to implement peace deal as well as its arrogance, we can say that, peace is still elusive, especially in the light of the calculations of revenge and counter-revenge that control the hostile relations between the two men (Kiir โ€“ Machar). Thus the recent statement of Kiir constitutes irrefutable evidence once again by shedding light on his retaliatory commitment that still holds in the (president) himself especially when it comes to his relation with Dr. Riek Machar. Even after the head of the Catholic Church in the world Pope Francis Benedict humbled himself by kissing their soiled feet with the blood of innocent people with a hope they might work for forgiveness and peace.

But as long as their attitudes in the handling the public affairs up to the moment, is of no doubt that their duality, constitutes the suffering of the people of South Sudan in terms of governance crisis that considers war and corruption among their deadly aspects.

Perhaps the talks in this direction cannot be shortened primarily in the strained relations between (Kiir – Machar) because of its link to the future of our country which is mired in the mud of revenge. Therefore, it is necessary to clarify here that contemplation on the mirage of the Revitalized peace agreement, is an act of self-narcotics in the sense that the Revitalized peace agreement is nothing than political cover for the continuation of the war.

For this reason alone, it is absurd and naive to treat revitalized peace as if it is a solution for the political crisis in our country. Here the poem is very clear, the only explanation for it, I believe it does not go beyond the fact that there are attempts to postpone the war in our country in the name of false peace that does not mean something to the common people even if Dr. Riek Machar stepped in Juba for hundredth times, taking into accounts his political history, is an open book of suffering nothing good related to it than for himself and his family which is also a similar situation of President Salva Kiir.

So how can peace be sustained in our country if the Revitalized peace agreement is basically based on personal ambitions and narrow partisan interests?

Let me conclude by saying that the picture is very clear my dear reader, we do not need to clarify more than this, as far as we are concerned to continue the struggle that our people have accepted, but the vital question is how to deal with this situation within the framework of the renewed and rising popular resistance around the values of freedom and the gains of the struggle of the people of South Sudan which the regime has desecrated it?

We, in the National Salvation Front are to restore what our noble people lost at the hands of this unjust regime in terms of dignified life, meaning we will inevitably remain a strong support for our people through our unrelenting struggles for restoring the right and victory for justice and equality throughout our country.
