20250328 NAS Press Release on the Current Security Situation in South Sudan

The National Salvation Front (NAS) has called for the immediate release of SPLM-IO Chairman Dr. Riek Machar and other detainees while demanding the withdrawal of Ugandan forces from South Sudan. NAS condemned President Salva Kiir’s government for suppressing opposition leaders and accused it of committing war crimes through bombardments in several regions. The group declared the R-ARCSS defunct and urged the international community to support a new peace process. NAS also called on civil society and UNMISS to act against government atrocities, warning that Kiir’s regime is on the verge of collapse.
