NAS Radio interview with Dr. Vuni on the historic launch of NAS policy document on federalism

Following the historic launch of the policy document on federalism entitled “The Federal System Model of South Sudan”, NAS Radio spoke to Dr. Victor Vuni, Chairman of the National Strategic Policy Secretariat about the document.

On the 27th of October 2020, NAS leadership, through the National Strategic Policy Secretariat released to the public the full version of the policy document entitled โ€œFederalism for a Peaceful and Prosperous South Sudan โ€“ The Federal System Model of South Sudanโ€. Federalism forms one of the core pillars of the National Salvation Front (NAS) and for that reason, the release of this policy document – the first of its kind in the history of South Sudan – is being considered a historic achievement not only for the movement but for South Sudan as a whole.

 

 

In the foreword of this historic document, Chairman Gen Thomas Cirillo said “The purpose of this document is to inform the people of South Sudan about the type of federalism South Sudan needs, why it is needed now, and how to implement it in order to realize sustainable peace and good governance in the country.”

During this 27-minute interview, Dr. Vuni speaks, among other things, about the type of federalism South Sudan needs, why it is needed now, and how to implement it in order to realize sustainable peace and good governance in the country.ย

Dr. Vuni also outlined how NAS’ Federal System Model of South Sudan is nothing like Kokora. He compared and contrasted the two systems pointing out the various difference between them and convincingly leaving the listeners to conclude Kokora is a different kettleย of fish.
