Press Release on the ongoing joint military offensive by South Sudan People’s Defense Force (SSPDF) and Sudan People’s Liberation Army in Opposition (SPLA-IO) in Mundri West, Western Equatoria State.

On 23^rd May 2020, the SSPDF force accompanied by the elements of SPLA IO attacked NAS mobile base in Mundri West, NAS forces fought back in self-defense and repulsed the attackers.

On another development, as NAS continue to counter SSPDF and SPLA-IO offensive in Western Equatoria State, the National Security Convey traveling to Lakes State, Rumbek fell into NAS ambush in which five (5) government soldiers were killed in action, different assortments of ammunition were recovered and one (1) fuel tanker burnt.
