In the document, both parties state their intention to end hostilities between their forces and work together politically and militarily, while coordinating unified positions in peace negotiations and international engagement.

The agreement also commits the two movements to develop a comprehensive common peace plan, promote unity among opposition forces, and engage with other political groups and civil society actors in the search for lasting peace and stability in the country.

The parties further agreed to establish a joint high-level committee to oversee the cooperation, resolve disputes, and develop long-term mechanisms for collaboration between the two movements.

The memorandum states that the cooperation is driven by concern over what it describes as the political, security and humanitarian crisis in the country under the government of President Salva Kiir.

Signatories to the agreement include NAS Secretary-General Nasike Teko Allan and SPLM/A-IO Secretary-General Regina Joseph Kapa, along with senior military officials from both sides.
