“The hopes and aspiration of the people of South Sudan are on NAS,” Gen Thomas Cirillo
Faced with a dishonest regime and a deteriorating political and economical environment, the people of South Sudan are counting on the National Salvation Front (NAS) for deliverance.Β NAS Chairman and C-in-C Gen Thomas Cirillo said this fact presents a great and historic responsibility to which NAS members must rise.
Gen Thomas Cirillo made these remarks during a well-attended meeting between the leadership of NAS and its European branches on Saturday. Other members of the NAS leadership also attended and addressed the gathering where they briefed the gathered on a variety of issues related to the struggle.
The hopes and aspirations of the people of South Sudan are on NAS to bring about hope and salvation to the people and to restore peace and dignity. Messages reaching us from inside the country, from refugees in neighbouring countries, and even from some foreigners who closely monitor the situation in our country indicate that NAS is the peoplesβ popular choice. This is a great responsibility that has been put upon us β and we must rise to it

Messages reaching us from inside the country, from refugees in neighbouring countries, and even from some foreigners who closely monitor the situation in our country indicate that NAS is the peoples’ popular choice. This is a great responsibility that has been put upon us – and we must rise to it,” Chairman Thomas Cirillo said.
Present during the meeting were members of NAS European branches from the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Denmark and other European countries.
Chairman Thomas Cirillo went on to encourage the membership to stand firm without fear as they are “standing on the right side of history” and because NAS has chosen to strive for the interest of the people and not personal interests in the form of government positions.
“Our decision to refuse to sign the faulty Khartoum Peace Agreement was historic because everybody is now saying we are right! It was not easy, but it was the right thing to do… it was a sacrifice… a great test to choose between interests of the people or personal interests.
“Those who agreed or were forced to sign the agreement are now openly admitting that it was a surrender. There is no agreement…. the opposition is being dismantled into pieces… so, there is also no opposition!”
However, Gen Thomas Cirillo assured the members that the future is promising, and there is hope in the organizational capacity and determination of the National Salvation Front.
βNAS has become the talk of the town… the people are expecting us to deliver and that is a great responsibility to each one of you as NAS members. Inside the country, NAS is continuing to grow as more and more people join and sympathize with us all over South Sudan,β Gen Thomas revealed.
