SSPDF kill two civilians along Loka-Lainya road

NAS condemns in the strongest possible terms these heinous crimes of the regime of Salva Kiir and holds the SSPDF and President Kiir responsible for committing ethnic-based crimes in South Sudan

The bodies of two local businessmen have been found along Loka-Lainya after they were reportedly executed and dumped by the roadside by SSPDF operatives in the area.

According to reliable sources on the ground, the two were travelling on their motorbikes from Loka-West towards Lainya when they were intercepted on July 25 and executed in what is believed to be the new SSPDF tactic of aggression. Small and isolated SSPDF operatives are sent to terrorize civilians to displace them.

In a recent press release, the NAS Spokesman Suba Samuel exposed the tactic saying, “After the failure of joint SSPDF and SPLM IO military campaign in April 2020, the SSPDF command changed its tactics of aggression by conducting isolated operations against NAS positions in Eastern, Western and Central Equatoria States to avoid publicity and attention.”

This cold-blood murder of the two local businessmen could be the start another a Kiir-engineered tactic where operatives known as ‘unknown gunmen’ are given the blessing to execute civilians.

While remaining committed to protecting the innocent civilians and their property, the National Salvation Front (NAS) in the area is trying to reach out to the locals to warn them about the sinister plans.

The National Salvation Front would also like to inform its members, supporters, the people of South Sudan and members of the International Community about these latest tactics employed Kiir’s SSPDF against innocent civilians.
