NAS forces repel SSPDF attacks, capture key military base in bold counteroffensive

The gallant and revolutionary forces of the National Salvation Front NAS, on Saturday, successfully repelled two coordinated offensives by the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) and allied militias. In a stunning counteroffensive, NAS forces overran and captured Angabi military base in Western Equatoria, forcing enemy troops to scatter in disarray and capturing significant arms and equipment in the process.

This victory, which NAS spokesperson Suba Samuel shared in a statement, marked a major blow to the SSPDF, whose casualties included seven soldiers and their commanding officer. Though two NAS soldiers were injured, the triumph at Angabi demonstrated the tenacity and tactical prowess of NAS forces.

Simultaneously, in Lainya County, Central Equatoria, NAS troops repelled an assault led by Brig. Kenyi Warrior and chased militia elements that were terrorizing civilians in Mukaya Payam, showcasing NAS’s unwavering dedication to protecting the people.

In response to these unprovoked attacks, NAS leadership announced safety measures for civilians and NGOs, cautioning against travel on key roads and urging timely coordination with NAS’s Humanitarian Commission for mission clearance.

NAS leadership lauded its troops for their heroic stand and reiterated its commitment to defending the people of South Sudan and striving for a transformative political future.

Suba Samuel, NAS Spokesperson signed off with NAS Guwa, NAS Power, Victory to the people of South Sudan
